Full Time/Temporary Evening Shift:
Responsible for campus-wide maintenance; first responder to emergencies.
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
Outside trimming of shrubs, mowing around building, flower / tree planting, and trash pickup.
Seasonal decorating of building.
Performs preventive maintenance and routine custodial duties as assigned.
Assists in removal of snow.
Stripping/waxing floors as scheduled.
Carpet cleaning/extraction.
Performs all operational assignments as requested, and completes daily work orders.

Informs the Maintenance Supervisor/Director of Maintenance immediately of any malfunction of equipment or any hazardous condition.
Clean areas used at the completion of work or at the end of the day.
Requisitions all supplies through the Maintenance Supervisor/Director of Maintenance, and assists in maintaining an inventory of parts and supplies in the department.
Has some knowledge of fire alarms, fire equipment, heat and smoke detectors.
Basic Duties &
Responsibilities:
Washing of exterior windows seasonally.
Maintaining facility water softener (maintaining salt levels).
High speed floor burnishing.
Perform lockout / tagout.
Emergency generator checks and logs.
First responder to emergency situations on campus.
Escort emergency personnel on campus and assist as directed.
Clean areas used at the completion of work or at the end of the day.
Follows instructions of the fire and disaster plans.
Check fire panels.
Assists in the opening and closing of buildings as required.
Endorses and complies with the Vision, objectives, procedures, and policies of Bethany Village and the Maintenance Department.
Partake in weekly on-call rotation Education Required:
High School Diploma recommended for this position.
Ability to read, speak and write English is required.
Experience Required:
1-2 years' experience preferred.
Hazards:
Exposure to the following may be present in this position:
Blood-borne pathogens, infectious body fluids, chemicals (gasoline, oil, lubricants, paint, etc.
) MSDS sheets are available for all chemicals used.
Equipment Used:
Floor buffer, burnisher, carpet extractor, and auto scrubber.
Vacuum, wet/dry vacuum, micro-vac.
Lockout / tagout equipment.
General tools, power tools, ladders, dollies, and flat carts.
Vehicles with plow equipment, salting equipment.
Mowers & trimmers.
_ Working Conditions:
_ Some weekends & holidays required.
Must be able to work independently and prioritize duties.
Working conditions for this position may include the following:
Inside, outside, hot, cold, humid, dry, wet, dusty, dirty, odors, noisy, inadequate lighting/ventilation, mechanical hazards, moving objects, high places, working with/around others, working alone.
Physical Demands:
Some heavy lifting required ( 75 lbs, @ 5% of time), 20 lbs, @ 5% of time,.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
