We are seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Technician who will be responsible for performing and documenting inspections within our Machine Shop, Warehouse (incoming/purchased parts), and subassembly.
To succeed in this role, candidate must possess strong computer skills, high attention to detail, the ability to recognize deviations from current standards, initiate process improvements, and accurately use a variety of instruments/tools including micrometers, gauges, CMM, etc.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Works from drawings, specifications, inspection procedures and work instructions to inspect parts and equipment.
Follows standard procedure to inspect produced and purchased parts using specified sampling plan.
Exercises care to detect and reject parts not meeting specifications or quality standards.
Evaluates data and writes brief reports as requested to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
If requested, sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts or products to measure performance, life or material characteristics.
Makes basic inspection set-ups to check interrelated dimensions.
Maintains calibration system and recommends new tooling and gauges as needed.
Programs and performs inspections on a CMM Engage in ISO activities as directed by department manager Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
2 to 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Associate degree (A.
S.
) in a technical field is preferred Experience in a Machine Shop environment Experience using measuring tools, micrometers, gauging, reading blue-prints Experience in Quality Assurance in a machine shop or manufacturing Ability to effectively problem solve We Offer:
